Project BRAVO provides GED classes in both English and Spanish. We aim to help our students increase their academic skills and prepare them to take the G.E.D battery examinations. We make learning achievable by working with our students to understand where they are at and the goals they have for themselves.
The testing for the General Educational Development certification (G.E.D) is internationally recognized. Its purpose is to evaluate, measure aptitude, academic skills and knowledge in the basic subjects that should have been learned at four year High School education level. When participants achieve a passing score on the battery examinations with the time frame of 8 hrs, a G.E.D certification will be relinquished to the participant certifying that he or she has obtained the skills and knowledge required that a High School graduate would have received. The series of G.E.D examinations contain the following subjects:
1) Reasoning through language arts:
3) Social studies
4) Mathematical reasoning
The Career and Academic Readiness Program (CARE Program) helps people become more self-sufficient by transitioning from a place of dependence to independence. Our CARE Program Advisors (CPA) play a motivational and supportive role connecting people with appropriate resources while also being an advocate of social justice. CARE Program clients receive intensive case management through a holistic process where CARE Program Advisors will evaluate resources and supports to help clients navigate their situation to reach self-sufficiency. At Project BRAVO, the CARE Program is a collaborative process that assesses, plans, implements, and monitors a client’s case in order for them to achieve their goals and ultimately transition out of poverty. CARE Program Advisors will evaluate each case according to the household’s needs by using the ROMA cycle.
Project BRAVO's Patient Assistance Program addresses the need for health care services for low-income individuals. We aim to help patients who lack health insurance or prescription coverage obtain the services and medications they need. We assist our clients by identifying and providing referrals or applications for low cost health clinics, pharmacy discounts, and free eye exams and eyeglasses.
Clients can obtain free prescribed medication through the Patient Assistance Program (PAP). Project BRAVO helps clients obtain, complete, and submit applications to partnering U.S. Pharmaceutical companies. It takes 2-4 weeks to process and receive prescription medication. When approved, the client or doctor will receive a 90 to 120 day supply of medication.
The Patient Assistance Program in partnership with other agencies can help you receive a free eye exam and/or receive prescription eyeglasses. You will receive a referral to the appropriate agency depending on your specific situation.
In addition to the required documents, you must also provide:
Proof of insurance (Medicare or Medicaid)
Name of medications (preferably prescription or medication bottle)
Prescription for eyeglasses
